Psalm 132 WEB/NIV - Online Parallel Bible

World English Bible (WEB) New International Version (NIV)
<> Yahweh, remember David and all his affliction, 1 O LORD, remember David and all the hardships he endured.
How he swore to Yahweh, And vowed to the Mighty One of Jacob: 2 He swore an oath to the LORD and made a vow to the Mighty One of Jacob:
"Surely I will not come into the structure of my house, Nor go up into my bed; 3 "I will not enter my house or go to my bed--
I will not give sleep to my eyes, Or slumber to my eyelids; 4 I will allow no sleep to my eyes, no slumber to my eyelids,
Until I find out a place for Yahweh, A dwelling for the Mighty One of Jacob." 5 till I find a place for the LORD, a dwelling for the Mighty One of Jacob."
Behold, we heard of it in Ephrathah. We found it in the field of Jaar: 6 We heard it in Ephrathah, we came upon it in the fields of Jaar:
"We will go into his dwelling place. We will worship at his footstool. 7 "Let us go to his dwelling place; let us worship at his footstool--
Arise, Yahweh, into your resting place; You, and the ark of your strength. 8 arise, O LORD, and come to your resting place, you and the ark of your might.
Let your priest be clothed with righteousness. Let your saints shout for joy!" 9 May your priests be clothed with righteousness; may your saints sing for joy."
For your servant David's sake, Don't turn away the face of your anointed one. 10 For the sake of David your servant, do not reject your anointed one.
Yahweh has sworn to David in truth. He will not turn from it: "I will set the fruit of your body on your throne. 11 The LORD swore an oath to David, a sure oath that he will not revoke: "One of your own descendants I will place on your throne--
If your children will keep my covenant, My testimony that I will teach them, Their children also will sit on your throne forevermore." 12 if your sons keep my covenant and the statutes I teach them, then their sons will sit on your throne for ever and ever."
For Yahweh has chosen Zion. He has desired it for his habitation. 13 For the LORD has chosen Zion, he has desired it for his dwelling:
"This is my resting place forever. Here I will live, for I have desired it. 14 "This is my resting place for ever and ever; here I will sit enthroned, for I have desired it--
I will abundantly bless her provision. I will satisfy her poor with bread. 15 I will bless her with abundant provisions; her poor will I satisfy with food.
Her priests I will also clothe with salvation. Her saints will shout aloud for joy. 16 I will clothe her priests with salvation, and her saints will ever sing for joy.
There I will make the horn of David to bud. I have ordained a lamp for my anointed. 17 "Here I will make a horn grow for David and set up a lamp for my anointed one.
I will clothe his enemies with shame, But on himself, his crown will be resplendant." 18 I will clothe his enemies with shame, but the crown on his head will be resplendent."
