Lexham English Bible (LEB) New International Version (NIV)
I call on you, O Yahweh; hasten to me. Listen to my voice when I call to you. 1 O LORD, I call to you; come quickly to me. Hear my voice when I call to you.
Let my prayer be set before you [as] incense, the lifting up of my palms [as the] evening offering. 2 May my prayer be set before you like incense; may the lifting up of my hands be like the evening sacrifice.
Set a guard, O Yahweh, over my mouth; keep watch over the door of my lips. 3 Set a guard over my mouth, O LORD; keep watch over the door of my lips.
Do not incline my heart to any evil thing, to practice wicked deeds with men [who] do iniquity; and do not let me eat of their delicacies. 4 Let not my heart be drawn to what is evil, to take part in wicked deeds with men who are evildoers; let me not eat of their delicacies.
Let a righteous one strike me in kindness, and let him chasten me. [It is] oil for [my] head; let not my head refuse. For still my prayer [is] against their evil deeds. 5 Let a righteous man strike me--it is a kindness; let him rebuke me--it is oil on my head. My head will not refuse it. Yet my prayer is ever against the deeds of evildoers;
[When] their judges are thrown down [the] sides of a cliff, then they will understand that my words were pleasant. 6 their rulers will be thrown down from the cliffs, and the wicked will learn that my words were well spoken.
As [when one] plows and breaks up the earth, [so] our bones are scattered at the mouth of Sheol. 7 [They will say,] "As one plows and breaks up the earth, so our bones have been scattered at the mouth of the grave. "
But my eyes [are] toward you, O Yahweh, my Lord; I have taken refuge in you. Do not lay bare my soul. 8 But my eyes are fixed on you, O Sovereign LORD; in you I take refuge--do not give me over to death.
Protect me from [the] {grasp} of [the] trap they have laid for me, and [from the] snares of evildoers. 9 Keep me from the snares they have laid for me, from the traps set by evildoers.
Let [the] wicked fall into their nets, while I escape altogether. 10 Let the wicked fall into their own nets, while I pass by in safety.
