Deep calls to deep at the thunder of thy cataracts; all thy waves and thy billows have gone over me. 7 Deep calls to deep in the roar of your waterfalls; all your waves and breakers have swept over me.
By day the LORD commands his steadfast love; and at night his song is with me, a prayer to the God of my life. 8 By day the LORD directs his love, at night his song is with me-- a prayer to the God of my life.
I say to God, my rock: "Why hast thou forgotten me? Why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?" 9 I say to God my Rock, "Why have you forgotten me? Why must I go about mourning, oppressed by the enemy?"
As with a deadly wound in my body, my adversaries taunt me, while they say to me continually, "Where is your God?" 10 My bones suffer mortal agony as my foes taunt me, saying to me all day long, "Where is your God?"
Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my help and my God. 11 Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God.
