Psalm 69 HNV/NIV - Online Parallel Bible

Hebrew Names Version (HNV) New International Version (NIV)
<> Save me, God, For the waters have come up to my neck! 1 Save me, O God, for the waters have come up to my neck.
I sink in deep mire, where there is no foothold. I have come into deep waters, where the floods overflow me. 2 I sink in the miry depths, where there is no foothold. I have come into the deep waters; the floods engulf me.
I am weary with my crying. My throat is dry. My eyes fail, looking for my God. 3 I am worn out calling for help; my throat is parched. My eyes fail, looking for my God.
Those who hate me without a cause are more than the hairs of my head. Those who want to cut me off, being my enemies wrongfully, are mighty. I have to restore what I didn't take away. 4 Those who hate me without reason outnumber the hairs of my head; many are my enemies without cause, those who seek to destroy me. I am forced to restore what I did not steal.
God, you know my foolishness. My sins aren't hidden from you. 5 You know my folly, O God; my guilt is not hidden from you.
Don't let those who wait for you be put to shame through me, Lord GOD of Hosts. Don't let those who seek you be brought to dishonor through me, God of Yisra'el. 6 May those who hope in you not be disgraced because of me, O Lord, the LORD Almighty; may those who seek you not be put to shame because of me, O God of Israel.
Because for your sake, I have borne reproach. Shame has covered my face. 7 For I endure scorn for your sake, and shame covers my face.
I have become a stranger to my brothers, An alien to my mother's children. 8 I am a stranger to my brothers, an alien to my own mother's sons;
For the zeal of your house consumes me. The reproaches of those who reproach you have fallen on me. 9 for zeal for your house consumes me, and the insults of those who insult you fall on me.
When I wept and I fasted, That was to my reproach. 10 When I weep and fast, I must endure scorn;
When I made sackcloth my clothing, I became a byword to them. 11 when I put on sackcloth, people make sport of me.
Those who sit in the gate talk about me. I am the song of the drunkards. 12 Those who sit at the gate mock me, and I am the song of the drunkards.
But as for me, my prayer is to you, LORD, in an acceptable time. God, in the abundance of your lovingkindness, answer me in the truth of your salvation. 13 But I pray to you, O LORD, in the time of your favor; in your great love, O God, answer me with your sure salvation.
Deliver me out of the mire, and don't let me sink. Let me be delivered from those who hate me, and out of the deep waters. 14 Rescue me from the mire, do not let me sink; deliver me from those who hate me, from the deep waters.
Don't let the flood waters overwhelm me, Neither let the deep swallow me up. Don't let the pit shut its mouth on me. 15 Do not let the floodwaters engulf me or the depths swallow me up or the pit close its mouth over me.
Answer me, LORD, for your lovingkindness is good. According to the multitude of your tender mercies, turn to me. 16 Answer me, O LORD, out of the goodness of your love; in your great mercy turn to me.
Don't hide your face from your servant, For I am in distress. Answer me speedily! 17 Do not hide your face from your servant; answer me quickly, for I am in trouble.
Draw near to my soul, and redeem it. Ransom me because of my enemies. 18 Come near and rescue me; redeem me because of my foes.
You know my reproach, my shame, and my dishonor. My adversaries are all before you. 19 You know how I am scorned, disgraced and shamed; all my enemies are before you.
Reproach has broken my heart, and I am full of heaviness. I looked for some to take pity, but there was none; For comforters, but I found none. 20 Scorn has broken my heart and has left me helpless; I looked for sympathy, but there was none, for comforters, but I found none.
They also gave me gall for my food. In my thirst, they gave me vinegar to drink. 21 They put gall in my food and gave me vinegar for my thirst.
Let their table before them become a snare. May it become a retribution and a trap. 22 May the table set before them become a snare; may it become retribution and a trap.
Let their eyes be darkened, so that they can't see. Make their loins continually to shake. 23 May their eyes be darkened so they cannot see, and their backs be bent forever.
Pour out your indignation on them. Let the fierceness of your anger overtake them. 24 Pour out your wrath on them; let your fierce anger overtake them.
Let their habitation be desolate. Let no one dwell in their tents. 25 May their place be deserted; let there be no one to dwell in their tents.
For they persecute him whom you have wounded. They tell of the sorrow of those whom you have hurt. 26 For they persecute those you wound and talk about the pain of those you hurt.
Charge them with crime upon crime. Don't let them come into your righteousness. 27 Charge them with crime upon crime; do not let them share in your salvation.
Let them be blotted out of the book of life, And not be written with the righteous. 28 May they be blotted out of the book of life and not be listed with the righteous.
But I am in pain and distress. Let your yeshu`ah, God, protect me. 29 I am in pain and distress; may your salvation, O God, protect me.
I will praise the name of God with a song, And will magnify him with thanksgiving. 30 I will praise God's name in song and glorify him with thanksgiving.
It will please the LORD better than an ox, Or a bull that has horns and hoofs. 31 This will please the LORD more than an ox, more than a bull with its horns and hoofs.
The humble have seen it, and are glad. You who seek after God, let your heart live. 32 The poor will see and be glad-- you who seek God, may your hearts live!
For the LORD hears the needy, And doesn't despise his captive people. 33 The LORD hears the needy and does not despise his captive people.
Let heaven and eretz praise him; The seas, and everything that moves therein! 34 Let heaven and earth praise him, the seas and all that move in them,
For God will save Tziyon, and build the cities of Yehudah. They shall settle there, and own it. 35 for God will save Zion and rebuild the cities of Judah. Then people will settle there and possess it;
The children also of his servants shall inherit it. Those who love his name shall dwell therein. 36 the children of his servants will inherit it, and those who love his name will dwell there.
