Douay-Rheims (RHE) New International Version (NIV)
(81-1) <A psalm for Asaph.> God hath stood in the congregation of gods: and being in the midst of them he judgeth gods. 1 God presides in the great assembly; he gives judgment among the "gods":
(81-2) How long will you judge unjustly: and accept the persons of the wicked? 2 "How long will you defend the unjust and show partiality to the wicked? "Selah"
(81-3) Judge for the needy and fatherless: do justice to the humble and the poor. 3 Defend the cause of the weak and fatherless; maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed.
(81-4) Rescue the poor; and deliver the needy out of the hand of the sinner. 4 Rescue the weak and needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.
(81-5) They have not known nor understood: they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth shall be moved. 5 "They know nothing, they understand nothing. They walk about in darkness; all the foundations of the earth are shaken.
(81-6) I have said: You are gods and all of you the sons of the most High. 6 "I said, 'You are "gods"; you are all sons of the Most High.'
(81-7) But you like men shall die: and shall fall like one of the princes. 7 But you will die like mere men; you will fall like every other ruler."
(81-8) Arise, O God, judge thou the earth: for thou shalt inherit among all the nations. 8 Rise up, O God, judge the earth, for all the nations are your inheritance.
