King James Version (KJV) New International Version (NIV)
And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals. 1 Then I saw in the right hand of him who sat on the throne a scroll with writing on both sides and sealed with seven seals.
And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof? 2 And I saw a mighty angel proclaiming in a loud voice, "Who is worthy to break the seals and open the scroll?"
And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon. 3 But no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth could open the scroll or even look inside it.
And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon. 4 I wept and wept because no one was found who was worthy to open the scroll or look inside.
And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold , the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof. 5 Then one of the elders said to me, "Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed. He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals."
