Hebrew Names Version (HNV) New International Version (NIV)
Therefore I beg you, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service. 1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God--this is your spiritual act of worship.
Don't be fashioned according to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God. 2 Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will.
For I say, through the grace that was given me, to every man who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think reasonably, as God has apportioned to each person a measure of faith. 3 For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you.
For even as we have many members in one body, and all the members don't have the same function, 4 Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function,
so we, who are many, are one body in Messiah, and individually members one of another. 5 so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.
Having gifts differing according to the grace that was given to us, if prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of our faith; 6 We have different gifts, according to the grace given us. If a man's gift is prophesying, let him use it in proportion to his faith.
or service, let us give ourselves to service; or he who teaches, to his teaching; 7 If it is serving, let him serve; if it is teaching, let him teach;
or he who exhorts, to his exhorting: he who gives, let him do it with liberality; he who rules, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness. 8 if it is encouraging, let him encourage; if it is contributing to the needs of others, let him give generously; if it is leadership, let him govern diligently; if it is showing mercy, let him do it cheerfully.
Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor that which is evil. Cling to that which is good. 9 Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good.
In love of the brothers be tenderly affectionate one to another; in honor preferring one another; 10 Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves.
not lagging in diligence; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord; 11 Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.
rejoicing in hope; enduring in oppression; continuing steadfastly in prayer; 12 Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.
contributing to the needs of the holy ones; given to hospitality. 13 Share with God's people who are in need. Practice hospitality.
Bless those who persecute you; bless, and don't curse. 14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.
Rejoice with those who rejoice. Weep with those who weep. 15 Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn.
Be of the same mind one toward another. Don't set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Don't be wise in your own conceits. 16 Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited.
Repay no one evil for evil. Respect what is honorable in the sight of all men. 17 Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everybody.
If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at shalom with all men. 18 If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.
Don't seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God's wrath. For it is written, "Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord." 19 Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written: "It is mine to avenge; I will repay," says the Lord.
Therefore "If your enemy is hungry, feed him. If he is thirsty, give him a drink. For in doing so, you will heap coals of fire on his head." 20 On the contrary: "If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head."
Don't be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. 21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
