27 But Barnabas took him, and brought him to the apostles, and declared unto them how he had seen the Lord in the way, and that he had spoken to him, and how he had preached boldly at Damascus in the name of Jesus. 27 But Barnabas took him and brought him to the apostles. He told them how Saul on his journey had seen the Lord and that the Lord had spoken to him, and how in Damascus he had preached fearlessly in the name of Jesus.
28 And he was with them coming in and going out at Jerusalem. 28 So Saul stayed with them and moved about freely in Jerusalem, speaking boldly in the name of the Lord.
29 And he spake boldly in the name of the Lord Jesus, and disputed against the Grecians: but they went about to slay him. 29 He talked and debated with the Grecian Jews, but they tried to kill him.
30 Which when the brethren knew , they brought him down to Caesarea, and sent him forth to Tarsus. 30 When the brothers learned of this, they took him down to Caesarea and sent him off to Tarsus.
31 Then had the churches rest throughout all Judaea and Galilee and Samaria, and were edified ; and walking in the fear of the Lord, and in the comfort of the Holy Ghost, were multiplied . 31 Then the church throughout Judea, Galilee and Samaria enjoyed a time of peace. It was strengthened; and encouraged by the Holy Spirit, it grew in numbers, living in the fear of the Lord.
32 And it came to pass, as Peter passed throughout all quarters, he came down also to the saints which dwelt at Lydda. 32 As Peter traveled about the country, he went to visit the saints in Lydda.
33 And there he found a certain man named Aeneas, which had kept his bed eight years, and was sick of the palsy . 33 There he found a man named Aeneas, a paralytic who had been bedridden for eight years.
34 And Peter said unto him, Aeneas, Jesus Christ maketh thee whole : arise , and make thy bed . And he arose immediately. 34 "Aeneas," Peter said to him, "Jesus Christ heals you. Get up and take care of your mat." Immediately Aeneas got up.
35 And all that dwelt at Lydda and Saron saw him, and turned to the Lord. 35 All those who lived in Lydda and Sharon saw him and turned to the Lord.
36 Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and almsdeeds which she did . 36 In Joppa there was a disciple named Tabitha (which, when translated, is Dorcas ), who was always doing good and helping the poor.
37 And it came to pass in those days, that she was sick , and died : whom when they had washed , they laid her in an upper chamber. 37 About that time she became sick and died, and her body was washed and placed in an upstairs room.
