Common English Bible (CEB) New International Version (NIV)
Brothers and sisters, if I'm still preaching circumcision, why am I still being harassed? In that case, the offense of the cross would be canceled. 11 Brothers, if I am still preaching circumcision, why am I still being persecuted? In that case the offense of the cross has been abolished.
I wish that the ones who are upsetting you would castrate themselves! 12 As for those agitators, I wish they would go the whole way and emasculate themselves!
You were called to freedom, brothers and sisters; only don't let this freedom be an opportunity to indulge your selfish impulses, but serve each other through love. 13 You, my brothers, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the sinful nature; rather, serve one another in love.
All the Law has been fulfilled in a single statement: Love your neighbor as yourself. 14 The entire law is summed up in a single command: "Love your neighbor as yourself."
But if you bite and devour each other, be careful that you don't get eaten up by each other! 15 If you keep on biting and devouring each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other.
I say be guided by the Spirit and you won't carry out your selfish desires. 16 So I say, live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature.
A person's selfish desires are set against the Spirit, and the Spirit is set against one's selfish desires. They are opposed to each other, so you shouldn't do whatever you want to do. 17 For the sinful nature desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the sinful nature. They are in conflict with each other, so that you do not do what you want.
But if you are being led by the Spirit, you aren't under the Law. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under law.
The actions that are produced by selfish motives are obvious, since they include sexual immorality, moral corruption, doing whatever feels good, 19 The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery;
idolatry, drug use and casting spells, hate, fighting, obsession, losing your temper, competitive opposition, conflict, selfishness, group rivalry, 20 idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions
jealousy, drunkenness, partying, and other things like that. I warn you as I have already warned you, that those who do these kinds of things won't inherit God's kingdom. 21 and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.
