This persuasion did not come from Him who calls you. 8 That kind of persuasion does not come from the one who calls you.
A little leaven leavens the whole lump of dough. 9 "A little yeast works through the whole batch of dough."
I have confidence in you in the Lord that you will adopt no other view; but the one who is disturbing you will bear his judgment, whoever he is. 10 I am confident in the Lord that you will take no other view. The one who is throwing you into confusion will pay the penalty, whoever he may be.
But I, brethren, if I still preach circumcision, why am I still persecuted? Then the stumbling block of the cross has been abolished. 11 Brothers, if I am still preaching circumcision, why am I still being persecuted? In that case the offense of the cross has been abolished.
I wish that those who are troubling you would even mutilate themselves. 12 As for those agitators, I wish they would go the whole way and emasculate themselves!
For you were called to freedom, brethren; only do not turn your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. 13 You, my brothers, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the sinful nature; rather, serve one another in love.
For the whole Law is fulfilled in one word, in the statement, "YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF." 14 The entire law is summed up in a single command: "Love your neighbor as yourself."
But if you bite and devour one another, take care that you are not consumed by one another. 15 If you keep on biting and devouring each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other.
But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh. 16 So I say, live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature.
For the flesh sets its desire against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, so that you may not do the things that you please. 17 For the sinful nature desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the sinful nature. They are in conflict with each other, so that you do not do what you want.
But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the Law. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under law.
