Hebrew Names Version (HNV) New International Version (NIV)
It happened, that when Yitzchak was old, and his eyes were dim, so that he could not see, he called Esav his elder son, and said to him, "My son?" He said to him, "Here I am." 1 When Isaac was old and his eyes were so weak that he could no longer see, he called for Esau his older son and said to him, "My son." "Here I am," he answered.
He said, "See now, I am old. I don't know the day of my death. 2 Isaac said, "I am now an old man and don't know the day of my death.
Now therefore, please take your weapons, your quiver and your bow, and go out to the field, and take me venison. 3 Now then, get your weapons--your quiver and bow--and go out to the open country to hunt some wild game for me.
Make me savory food, such as I love, and bring it to me, that I may eat, and that my soul may bless you before I die. 4 Prepare me the kind of tasty food I like and bring it to me to eat, so that I may give you my blessing before I die."
