Revised Standard Version (RSV) New International Version (NIV)
In many and various ways God spoke of old to our fathers by the prophets; 1 In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways,
but in these last days he has spoken to us by a Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world. 2 but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe.
He reflects the glory of God and bears the very stamp of his nature, upholding the universe by his word of power. When he had made purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, 3 The Son is the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.
having become as much superior to angels as the name he has obtained is more excellent than theirs. 4 So he became as much superior to the angels as the name he has inherited is superior to theirs.
