King James Version (KJV) New International Version (NIV)
Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard , lest at any time we should let them slip . 1 We must pay more careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away.
For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward; 2 For if the message spoken by angels was binding, and every violation and disobedience received its just punishment,
How shall we escape , if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him; 3 how shall we escape if we ignore such a great salvation? This salvation, which was first announced by the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard him.
God also bearing them witness , both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will? 4 God also testified to it by signs, wonders and various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to his will.
