Hebrew Names Version (HNV) New International Version (NIV)
The animals of the field shall honor me, the jackals and the ostriches; because I give waters in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert, to give drink to my people, my chosen, 20 The wild animals honor me, the jackals and the owls, because I provide water in the desert and streams in the wasteland, to give drink to my people, my chosen,
the people which I formed for myself, that they might set forth my praise. 21 the people I formed for myself that they may proclaim my praise.
Yet you have not called on me, Ya`akov; but you have been weary of me, Yisra'el. 22 "Yet you have not called upon me, O Jacob, you have not wearied yourselves for me, O Israel.
You have not brought me of your sheep for burnt offerings; neither have you honored me with your sacrifices. I have not burdened you with offerings, nor wearied you with frankincense. 23 You have not brought me sheep for burnt offerings, nor honored me with your sacrifices. I have not burdened you with grain offerings nor wearied you with demands for incense.
You have bought me no sweet cane with money, neither have you filled me with the fat of your sacrifices; but you have burdened me with your sins, you have wearied me with your iniquities. 24 You have not bought any fragrant calamus for me, or lavished on me the fat of your sacrifices. But you have burdened me with your sins and wearied me with your offenses.
I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions for my own sake; and I will not remember your sins. 25 "I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions, for my own sake, and remembers your sins no more.
Put me in remembrance; let us plead together: set you forth [your cause], that you may be justified. 26 Review the past for me, let us argue the matter together; state the case for your innocence.
Your first father sinned, and your teachers have transgressed against me. 27 Your first father sinned; your spokesmen rebelled against me.
Therefore I will profane the princes of the sanctuary; and I will make Ya`akov a curse, and Yisra'el a reviling. 28 So I will disgrace the dignitaries of your temple, and I will consign Jacob to destruction and Israel to scorn.
