New Living Translation (NLT) New International Version (NIV)
As soon as Judas left the room, Jesus said, "The time has come for me, the Son of Man, to enter into my glory, and God will receive glory because of all that happens to me. 31 When he was gone, Jesus said, "Now is the Son of Man glorified and God is glorified in him.
And God will bring me into my glory very soon. 32 If God is glorified in him, God will glorify the Son in himself, and will glorify him at once.
Dear children, how brief are these moments before I must go away and leave you! Then, though you search for me, you cannot come to me -- just as I told the Jewish leaders. 33 "My children, I will be with you only a little longer. You will look for me, and just as I told the Jews, so I tell you now: Where I am going, you cannot come.
So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other. 34 "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.
Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples." 35 By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."
Simon Peter said, "Lord, where are you going?" And Jesus replied, "You can't go with me now, but you will follow me later." 36 Simon Peter asked him, "Lord, where are you going?" Jesus replied, "Where I am going, you cannot follow now, but you will follow later."
"But why can't I come now, Lord?" he asked. "I am ready to die for you." 37 Peter asked, "Lord, why can't I follow you now? I will lay down my life for you."
Jesus answered, "Die for me? No, before the rooster crows tomorrow morning, you will deny three times that you even know me. 38 Then Jesus answered, "Will you really lay down your life for me? I tell you the truth, before the rooster crows, you will disown me three times!
