King James Version (KJV) New International Version (NIV)
And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven. 13 No one has ever gone into heaven except the one who came from heaven--the Son of Man.
And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up : 14 Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the desert, so the Son of Man must be lifted up,
That whosoever believeth in him should not perish , but have eternal life. 15 that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish , but have everlasting life. 16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved . 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
He that believeth on him is not condemned : but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son.
And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil.
For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved . 20 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed.
But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest , that they are wrought in God. 21 But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God."
After these things came Jesus and his disciples into the land of Judaea; and there he tarried with them, and baptized . 22 After this, Jesus and his disciples went out into the Judean countryside, where he spent some time with them, and baptized.
And John also was baptizing in Aenon near to Salim, because there was much water there: and they came , and were baptized . 23 Now John also was baptizing at Aenon near Salim, because there was plenty of water, and people were constantly coming to be baptized.
