And he said to his disciples: It is impossible that scandals should not come. But woe to him through whom they come! 1 Jesus said to his disciples: "Things that cause people to sin are bound to come, but woe to that person through whom they come.
It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck and he cast into the sea, than that he should scandalize one of these little ones. 2 It would be better for him to be thrown into the sea with a millstone tied around his neck than for him to cause one of these little ones to sin.
Take heed to yourselves. If thy brother sin against thee, reprove him: and if he do penance, forgive him. 3 So watch yourselves. "If your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him.
And if he sin against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day be converted unto thee, saying: I repent: forgive him. 4 If he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times comes back to you and says, 'I repent,' forgive him."
And the apostles said to the Lord: Increase our faith. 5 The apostles said to the LORD, "Increase our faith!"
And the Lord said: If you had faith like to a grain of mustard seed, you might say to this mulberry tree: Be thou rooted up and be thou transplanted into the sea. And it would obey you. 6 He replied, "If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, 'Be uprooted and planted in the sea,' and it will obey you.
