34 And He said, "I tell thee, Peter, the cock shall not crow this day before thou shalt thrice deny that thou knowest Me."

Jesus answered, “I tell you, Peter, before the rooster crows today, you will deny three times that you know me.”
35 And He said unto them, "When I sent you without purse and pack and shoes, lacked ye anything?" And they said, "Nothing."

Then Jesus asked them, “When I sent you without purse, bag or sandals, did you lack anything?”“Nothing,” they answered.
36 Then said He unto them, "But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it and likewise his pack; and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment and buy one.

He said to them, “But now if you have a purse, take it, and also a bag; and if you don’t have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one.
37 For I say unto you that this that is written must yet be accomplished in Me: `And He was reckoned among the transgressors.' For the things concerning Me have an end."

It is written: ‘And he was numbered with the transgressors’; and I tell you that this must be fulfilled in me. Yes, what is written about me is reaching its fulfillment.”
38 And they said, "Lord, behold, here are two swords." And He said unto them, "It is enough."

The disciples said, “See, Lord, here are two swords.” “That’s enough!” he replied.
39 And He came out and went, as He was wont, to the Mount of Olives; and His disciples also followed Him.

Jesus went out as usual to the Mount of Olives, and his disciples followed him.
40 And when He was at the place, He said unto them, "Pray that ye enter not into temptation."

On reaching the place, he said to them, “Pray that you will not fall into temptation.”
41 And He was withdrawn from them about a stone's cast, and kneeled down and prayed,

He withdrew about a stone’s throw beyond them, knelt down and prayed,
42 saying, "Father, if Thou be willing, remove this cup from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Thine be done."

“Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.”
43 And there appeared an angel unto Him from Heaven, strengthening Him.

An angel from heaven appeared to him and strengthened him.
44 And being in agony, He prayed more earnestly, and His sweat was, as it were, great drops of blood falling down to the ground.

And being in anguish, he prayed more earnestly, and his sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground.
