And He came out and proceeded as was His custom to the Mount of Olives; and the disciples also followed Him. 39 Jesus went out as usual to the Mount of Olives, and his disciples followed him.
When He arrived at the place, He said to them, "Pray that you may not enter into temptation." 40 On reaching the place, he said to them, "Pray that you will not fall into temptation."
And He withdrew from them about a stone's throw, and He knelt down and began to pray, 41 He withdrew about a stone's throw beyond them, knelt down and prayed,
saying, "Father, if You are willing, remove this cup from Me; yet not My will, but Yours be done." 42 "Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done."
Now an angel from heaven appeared to Him, strengthening Him. 43 An angel from heaven appeared to him and strengthened him.
And being in agony He was praying very fervently; and His sweat became like drops of blood, falling down upon the ground. 44 And being in anguish, he prayed more earnestly, and his sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground.
When He rose from prayer, He came to the disciples and found them sleeping from sorrow, 45 When he rose from prayer and went back to the disciples, he found them asleep, exhausted from sorrow.
and said to them, "Why are you sleeping? Get up and pray that you may not enter into temptation." 46 "Why are you sleeping?" he asked them. "Get up and pray so that you will not fall into temptation."
