Lexham English Bible (LEB) New International Version (NIV)
"For there is no good tree that produces bad fruit, nor on the other hand a bad tree that produces good fruit, 43 "No good tree bears bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit.
for each tree is known by its own fruit. For figs are not gathered from thorn plants, nor are grapes harvested from thorn bushes. 44 Each tree is recognized by its own fruit. People do not pick figs from thornbushes, or grapes from briers.
The good person out of the good treasury of his heart brings forth good, and the evil person out of [his] evil [treasury] brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks. 45 The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For out of the overflow of his heart his mouth speaks.
"And why do you call me 'Lord, Lord,' and do not do what I tell [you]? 46 "Why do you call me, 'Lord, Lord,' and do not do what I say?
