The Darby Translation (DBY) New International Version (NIV)
And when he had completed all his words in the hearing of the people, he entered into Capernaum. 1 When Jesus had finished saying all this in the hearing of the people, he entered Capernaum.
And a certain centurion's bondman who was dear to him was ill and about to die; 2 There a centurion's servant, whom his master valued highly, was sick and about to die.
and having heard of Jesus, he sent to him elders of the Jews, begging him that he might come and save his bondman. 3 The centurion heard of Jesus and sent some elders of the Jews to him, asking him to come and heal his servant.
But they, being come to Jesus, besought him diligently, saying, He is worthy to whom thou shouldest grant this, 4 When they came to Jesus, they pleaded earnestly with him, "This man deserves to have you do this,
for he loves our nation, and himself has built the synagogue for us. 5 because he loves our nation and has built our synagogue."
And Jesus went with them. But already, when he was not far from the house, the centurion sent to him friends, saying to him, Lord, do not trouble thyself, for I am not worthy that thou shouldest enter under my roof. 6 So Jesus went with them. He was not far from the house when the centurion sent friends to say to him: "Lord, don't trouble yourself, for I do not deserve to have you come under my roof.
