Now when He had ended all His sayings in the audience of the people, He entered into Capernaum. 1 When Jesus had finished saying all this in the hearing of the people, he entered Capernaum.
And a certain centurion's servant, who was dear unto him, was sick and ready to die. 2 There a centurion's servant, whom his master valued highly, was sick and about to die.
And when he heard of Jesus, he sent the elders of the Jews unto Him, beseeching Him that He would come and heal his servant. 3 The centurion heard of Jesus and sent some elders of the Jews to him, asking him to come and heal his servant.
And when they came to Jesus they besought Him earnestly, saying that the one for whom He should do this was worthy, 4 When they came to Jesus, they pleaded earnestly with him, "This man deserves to have you do this,
"for he loveth our nation, and he hath built us a synagogue." 5 because he loves our nation and has built our synagogue."
And Jesus went with them. And when He was not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to Him, saying unto Him, "Lord, trouble not Thyself, for I am not worthy that Thou shouldest enter under my roof. 6 So Jesus went with them. He was not far from the house when the centurion sent friends to say to him: "Lord, don't trouble yourself, for I do not deserve to have you come under my roof.
