1 When Jesus had finished giving instructions to His twelve disciples, He departed from there to teach and preach in their cities. 1 After Jesus had finished instructing his twelve disciples, he went on from there to teach and preach in the towns of Galilee.
2 Now when John, while imprisoned, heard of the works of Christ, he sent word by his disciples 2 When John heard in prison what Christ was doing, he sent his disciples
3 and said to Him, "Are You the Expected One, or shall we look for someone else?" 3 to ask him, "Are you the one who was to come, or should we expect someone else?"
4 Jesus answered and said to them, "Go and report to John what you hear and see: 4 Jesus replied, "Go back and report to John what you hear and see:
5 the BLIND RECEIVE SIGHT and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the POOR HAVE THE GOSPEL PREACHED TO THEM. 5 The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cured, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is preached to the poor.
6 "And blessed is he who does not take offense at Me." 6 Blessed is the man who does not fall away on account of me."
