And Jesus went away from there and withdrew to the district of Tyre and Sidon. 21 Leaving that place, Jesus withdrew to the region of Tyre and Sidon.
And behold, a Canaanite woman from that region came out and cried, "Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David; my daughter is severely possessed by a demon." 22 A Canaanite woman from that vicinity came to him, crying out, "Lord, Son of David, have mercy on me! My daughter is suffering terribly from demon-possession."
But he did not answer her a word. And his disciples came and begged him, saying, "Send her away, for she is crying after us." 23 Jesus did not answer a word. So his disciples came to him and urged him, "Send her away, for she keeps crying out after us."
He answered, "I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel." 24 He answered, "I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel."
But she came and knelt before him, saying, "Lord, help me." 25 The woman came and knelt before him. "Lord, help me!" she said.
And he answered, "It is not fair to take the children's bread and throw it to the dogs." 26 He replied, "It is not right to take the children's bread and toss it to their dogs."
She said, "Yes, Lord, yet even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their masters' table." 27 "Yes, Lord," she said, "but even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their masters' table."
Then Jesus answered her, "O woman, great is your faith! Be it done for you as you desire." And her daughter was healed instantly. 28 Then Jesus answered, "Woman, you have great faith! Your request is granted." And her daughter was healed from that very hour.
