New King James Version (NKJV) New International Version (NIV)
And He took with Him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and He began to be sorrowful and deeply distressed. 37 He took Peter and the two sons of Zebedee along with him, and he began to be sorrowful and troubled.
Then He said to them, "My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here and watch with Me." 38 Then he said to them, "My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me."
He went a little farther and fell on His face, and prayed, saying, "O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will." 39 Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, "My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will."
Then He came to the disciples and found them asleep, and said to Peter, "What? Could you not watch with Me one hour? 40 Then he returned to his disciples and found them sleeping. "Could you men not keep watch with me for one hour?" he asked Peter.
Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak." 41 "Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak."
Again, a second time, He went away and prayed, saying, "O My Father, if this cup cannot pass away from Me unless I drink it, Your will be done." 42 He went away a second time and prayed, "My Father, if it is not possible for this cup to be taken away unless I drink it, may your will be done."
And He came and found them asleep again, for their eyes were heavy. 43 When he came back, he again found them sleeping, because their eyes were heavy.
So He left them, went away again, and prayed the third time, saying the same words. 44 So he left them and went away once more and prayed the third time, saying the same thing.
Then He came to His disciples and said to them, "Are you still sleeping and resting? Behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of Man is being betrayed into the hands of sinners. 45 Then he returned to the disciples and said to them, "Are you still sleeping and resting? Look, the hour is near, and the Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.
Rise, let us be going. See, My betrayer is at hand." 46 Rise, let us go! Here comes my betrayer!"
And while He was still speaking, behold, Judas, one of the twelve, with a great multitude with swords and clubs, came from the chief priests and elders of the people. 47 While he was still speaking, Judas, one of the Twelve, arrived. With him was a large crowd armed with swords and clubs, sent from the chief priests and the elders of the people.
