Proverbs 30:24-33 RSV/NIV - Online Parallel Bible

Revised Standard Version (RSV) New International Version (NIV)
Four things on earth are small, but they are exceedingly wise: 24 "Four things on earth are small, yet they are extremely wise:
the ants are a people not strong, yet they provide their food in the summer; 25 Ants are creatures of little strength, yet they store up their food in the summer;
the badgers are a people not mighty, yet they make their homes in the rocks; 26 coneys are creatures of little power, yet they make their home in the crags;
the locusts have no king, yet all of them march in rank; 27 locusts have no king, yet they advance together in ranks;
the lizard you can take in your hands, yet it is in kings' palaces. 28 a lizard can be caught with the hand, yet it is found in kings' palaces.
Three things are stately in their tread; four are stately in their stride: 29 "There are three things that are stately in their stride, four that move with stately bearing:
the lion, which is mightiest among beasts and does not turn back before any; 30 a lion, mighty among beasts, who retreats before nothing;
the strutting cock, the he-goat, and a king striding before his people. 31 a strutting rooster, a he-goat, and a king with his army around him.
If you have been foolish, exalting yourself, or if you have been devising evil, put your hand on your mouth. 32 "If you have played the fool and exalted yourself, or if you have planned evil, clap your hand over your mouth!
For pressing milk produces curds, pressing the nose produces blood, and pressing anger produces strife. 33 For as churning the milk produces butter, and as twisting the nose produces blood, so stirring up anger produces strife."
