Proverbs 6:24-29 NAS/NIV - Online Parallel Bible

New American Standard (NAS) New International Version (NIV)
24 To keep you from the evil woman, From the smooth tongue of the adulteress. 24 keeping you from the immoral woman, from the smooth tongue of the wayward wife.
25 Do not desire her beauty in your heart, Nor let her capture you with her eyelids. 25 Do not lust in your heart after her beauty or let her captivate you with her eyes,
26 For on account of a harlot one is reduced to a loaf of bread, And an adulteress hunts for the precious life. 26 for the prostitute reduces you to a loaf of bread, and the adulteress preys upon your very life.
27 Can a man take fire in his bosom And his clothes not be burned? 27 Can a man scoop fire into his lap without his clothes being burned?
28 Or can a man walk on hot coals And his feet not be scorched? 28 Can a man walk on hot coals without his feet being scorched?
29 So is the one who goes in to his neighbor's wife; Whoever touches her will not go unpunished. 29 So is he who sleeps with another man's wife; no one who touches her will go unpunished.
