Psalms 125

DBY

NIV

1 {A Song of degrees.} They that confide in Jehovah are as mount Zion, which cannot be moved; it abideth for ever.
1 Those who trust in the LORD are like Mount Zion, which cannot be shaken but endures forever.
2 Jerusalem! -- mountains are round about her, and Jehovah is round about his people, from henceforth and for evermore.
2 As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the LORD surrounds his people both now and forevermore.
3 For the sceptre of wickedness shall not rest upon the lot of the righteous; lest the righteous put forth their hands unto iniquity.
3 The scepter of the wicked will not remain over the land allotted to the righteous, for then the righteous might use their hands to do evil.
4 Do good, O Jehovah, unto the good, and to them that are upright in their hearts.
4 LORD, do good to those who are good, to those who are upright in heart.
5 But as for such as turn aside unto their crooked ways, Jehovah will lead them forth with the workers of iniquity. Peace be upon Israel!
5 But those who turn to crooked ways the LORD will banish with the evildoers. Peace be on Israel.
