Psalms 10:1-6

CJB

NIV

1 hy, ADONAI, do you stand at a distance? Why do you hide yourself in times of trouble?
1 Why, LORD, do you stand far off? Why do you hide yourself in times of trouble?
2 The wicked in their arrogance hunt down the poor, who get caught in the schemes they think up.
2 In his arrogance the wicked man hunts down the weak, who are caught in the schemes he devises.
3 For the wicked boasts about his lusts; he blesses greed and despises ADONAI.
3 He boasts about the cravings of his heart; he blesses the greedy and reviles the LORD.
4 Every scheme of the wicked in his arrogance [says], "There is no God, [so] it won't be held against me."
4 In his pride the wicked man does not seek him; in all his thoughts there is no room for God.
5 His ways prosper at all times. Your judgments are way up there, so he takes no notice. His adversaries? He scoffs at them all.
5 His ways are always prosperous; your laws are rejected by him; he sneers at all his enemies.
6 In his heart he thinks, "I will never be shaken; I won't meet trouble, not now or ever."
6 He says to himself, “Nothing will ever shake me.” He swears, “No one will ever do me harm.”
