Psalms 9:1-7

RSV

NIV

1 To the choirmaster: according to Muth-labben. A Psalm of David. I will give thanks to the LORD with my whole heart; I will tell of all thy wonderful deeds.
1 I will give thanks to you, LORD, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds.
2 I will be glad and exult in thee, I will sing praise to thy name, O Most High.
2 I will be glad and rejoice in you; I will sing the praises of your name, O Most High.
3 When my enemies turned back, they stumbled and perished before thee.
3 My enemies turn back; they stumble and perish before you.
4 For thou hast maintained my just cause; thou hast sat on the throne giving righteous judgment.
4 For you have upheld my right and my cause, sitting enthroned as the righteous judge.
5 Thou hast rebuked the nations, thou hast destroyed the wicked; thou hast blotted out their name for ever and ever.
5 You have rebuked the nations and destroyed the wicked; you have blotted out their name for ever and ever.
6 The enemy have vanished in everlasting ruins; their cities thou hast rooted out; the very memory of them has perished.
6 Endless ruin has overtaken my enemies, you have uprooted their cities; even the memory of them has perished.
7 But the LORD sits enthroned for ever, he has established his throne for judgment;
7 The LORD reigns forever; he has established his throne for judgment.
