Romans 10:1-6

CJB

NIV

1 Brothers, my heart's deepest desire and my prayer to God for Isra'el is for their salvation;
1 Brothers and sisters, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for the Israelites is that they may be saved.
2 for I can testify to their zeal for God. But it is not based on correct understanding;
2 For I can testify about them that they are zealous for God, but their zeal is not based on knowledge.
3 for, since they are unaware of God's way of making people righteous and instead seek to set up their own, they have not submitted themselves to God's way of making people righteous.
3 Since they did not know the righteousness of God and sought to establish their own, they did not submit to God’s righteousness.
4 For the goal at which the Torah aims is the Messiah, who offers righteousness to everyone who trusts.
4 Christ is the culmination of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes.
5 For Moshe writes about the righteousness grounded in the Torah that the person who does these things will attain life through them. k
5 Moses writes this about the righteousness that is by the law: “The person who does these things will live by them.”
6 Moreover, the righteousness grounded in trusting says: "Do not say in your heart, 'Who will ascend to heaven?'" that is, to bring the Messiah down -
6 But the righteousness that is by faith says: “Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?’ ” (that is, to bring Christ down)
