King James Version (KJV) New International Version (NIV)
Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe : for there is no difference: 22 This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference,
For all have sinned , and come short of the glory of God; 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: 24 and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.
Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past , through the forbearance of God; 25 God presented him as a sacrifice of atonement, through faith in his blood. He did this to demonstrate his justice, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished--
To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus. 26 he did it to demonstrate his justice at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus.
Where is boasting then? It is excluded . By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith. 27 Where, then, is boasting? It is excluded. On what principle? On that of observing the law? No, but on that of faith.
Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law. 28 For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from observing the law.
Is he the God of the Jews only? is he not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also: 29 Is God the God of Jews only? Is he not the God of Gentiles too? Yes, of Gentiles too,
Seeing it is one God, which shall justify the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith. 30 since there is only one God, who will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through that same faith.
Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid : yea, we establish the law. 31 Do we, then, nullify the law by this faith? Not at all! Rather, we uphold the law.
