Therefore, being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 1 Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,
by whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. 2 through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God.
And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also, knowing that tribulation worketh patience; 3 Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance;
and patience, experience; and experience, hope; 4 perseverance, character; and character, hope.
and hope maketh not ashamed, because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost who is given unto us. 5 And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.
For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. 6 You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly.
For scarcely will one die for a righteous man, yet perhaps for a good man some would even dare to die. 7 Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die.
But God commendeth His love toward us in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. 8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Much more then, being now justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. 9 Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God's wrath through him!
For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of His Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. 10 For if, when we were God's enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!
And not only that, but we shall also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement. 11 Not only is this so, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.
