1 Corinthians 16

NCV 1 Now I will write about the collection of money for God's people. Do the same thing I told the Galatian churches to do: NIV 1 Now about the collection for God's people: Do what I told the Galatian churches to do. NCV 2 On the first day of every week, each one of you should put aside money as you have been blessed. Save it up so you will not have to collect money after I come. NIV 2 On the first day of every week, each one of you should set aside a sum of money in keeping with his income, saving it up, so that when I come no collections will have to be made. NCV 3 When I arrive, I will send whomever you approve to take your gift to Jerusalem. I will send them with letters of introduction, NIV 3 Then, when I arrive, I will give letters of introduction to the men you approve and send them with your gift to Jerusalem. NCV 4 and if it seems good for me to go also, they will go along with me. NIV 4 If it seems advisable for me to go also, they will accompany me. NCV 5 I plan to go through Macedonia, so I will come to you after I go through there. NIV 5 After I go through Macedonia, I will come to you--for I will be going through Macedonia. NCV 6 Perhaps I will stay with you for a time or even all winter. Then you can help me on my trip, wherever I go. NIV 6 Perhaps I will stay with you awhile, or even spend the winter, so that you can help me on my journey, wherever I go. NCV 7 I do not want to see you now just in passing. I hope to stay a longer time with you if the Lord allows it. NIV 7 I do not want to see you now and make only a passing visit; I hope to spend some time with you, if the Lord permits. NCV 8 But I will stay at Ephesus until Pentecost, NIV 8 But I will stay on at Ephesus until Pentecost, NCV 9 because a good opportunity for a great and growing work has been given to me now. And there are many people working against me. NIV 9 because a great door for effective work has opened to me, and there are many who oppose me. NCV 10 If Timothy comes to you, see to it that he has nothing to fear with you, because he is working for the Lord just as I am. NIV 10 If Timothy comes, see to it that he has nothing to fear while he is with you, for he is carrying on the work of the Lord, just as I am. NCV 11 So none of you should treat Timothy as unimportant, but help him on his trip in peace so that he can come back to me. I am expecting him to come with the brothers. NIV 11 No one, then, should refuse to accept him. Send him on his way in peace so that he may return to me. I am expecting him along with the brothers. NCV 12 Now about our brother Apollos: I strongly encouraged him to visit you with the other brothers. He did not at all want to come now; he will come when he has the opportunity. NIV 12 Now about our brother Apollos: I strongly urged him to go to you with the brothers. He was quite unwilling to go now, but he will go when he has the opportunity. NCV 13 Be alert. Continue strong in the faith. Have courage, and be strong. NIV 13 Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be men of courage; be strong. NCV 14 Do everything in love. NIV 14 Do everything in love. NCV 15 You know that the family of Stephanas were the first believers in Southern Greece and that they have given themselves to the service of God's people. I ask you, brothers and sisters, NIV 15 You know that the household of Stephanas were the first converts in Achaia, and they have devoted themselves to the service of the saints. I urge you, brothers, NCV 16 to follow the leading of people like these and anyone else who works and serves with them. NIV 16 to submit to such as these and to everyone who joins in the work, and labors at it. NCV 17 I am happy that Stephanas, Fortunatus, and Achaicus have come. You are not here, but they have filled your place. NIV 17 I was glad when Stephanas, Fortunatus and Achaicus arrived, because they have supplied what was lacking from you. NCV 18 They have refreshed my spirit and yours. You should recognize the value of people like these. NIV 18 For they refreshed my spirit and yours also. Such men deserve recognition. NCV 19 The churches in the country of Asia send greetings to you. Aquila and Priscilla greet you in the Lord, as does the church that meets in their house. NIV 19 The churches in the province of Asia send you greetings. Aquila and Priscilla greet you warmly in the Lord, and so does the church that meets at their house. NCV 20 All the brothers and sisters here send greetings. Give each other a holy kiss when you meet. NIV 20 All the brothers here send you greetings. Greet one another with a holy kiss. NCV 21 I, Paul, am writing this greeting with my own hand. NIV 21 I, Paul, write this greeting in my own hand. NCV 22 If anyone does not love the Lord, let him be separated from God -- lost forever! Come, O Lord! NIV 22 If anyone does not love the Lord --a curse be on him. Come, O Lord ! NCV 23 The grace of the Lord Jesus be with you. NIV 23 The grace of the Lord Jesus be with you. NCV 24 My love be with all of you in Christ Jesus. NIV 24 My love to all of you in Christ Jesus. Amen.
