20 De manera que cuando os juntáis en uno, <I>esto</I> no es comer la Cena del Señor.

So then, when you come together, it is not the Lord’s Supper you eat,
21 Porque cada uno toma antes para comer su propia cena; y el uno tiene hambre, y el otro está embriagado.

for when you are eating, some of you go ahead with your own private suppers. As a result, one person remains hungry and another gets drunk.
22 A la verdad, ¿no tenéis casas en que comáis y bebáis? ¿O menospreciáis la Iglesia de Dios, y avergonzáis a los que no tienen? ¿Qué os diré? ¿Os alabaré? En esto no os alabo.

Don’t you have homes to eat and drink in? Or do you despise the church of God by humiliating those who have nothing? What shall I say to you? Shall I praise you? Certainly not in this matter!
23 Porque yo recibí del Señor lo que también os he enseñado: Que el Señor Jesús, la noche que fue entregado, tomó <I>el</I> pan;

For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread,
24 y habiendo dado gracias, <I>lo</I> partió, y dijo: Tomad, comed; esto es mi cuerpo que por vosotros es partido; haced esto en memoria de mí.

and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, “This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.”
25 Asimismo <I>tomó</I> también la copa, después de haber cenado, diciendo: Esta copa es el Nuevo testamento en mi sangre; haced esto todas las veces que bebiereis, en memoria de mí.

In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.”
26 Porque todas las veces que comiereis este pan, y bebiereis esta copa, la muerte del Señor anunciáis hasta que <I>él</I> venga.

For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.
27 De manera que, cualquiera que comiere este pan o bebiere esta copa del Señor indignamente, será culpado del cuerpo y de la sangre del Señor.

So then, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the Lord.
28 Por tanto, pruébese cada hombre a sí mismo, y coma así del pan, y beba de la copa.

Everyone ought to examine themselves before they eat of the bread and drink from the cup.
29 Porque el que come y bebe indignamente, juicio come y bebe para sí, no discerniendo el cuerpo del Señor.

For those who eat and drink without discerning the body of Christ eat and drink judgment on themselves.
30 Por lo cual hay muchos enfermos y debilitados entre vosotros; y muchos duermen.

That is why many among you are weak and sick, and a number of you have fallen asleep.
