38 Al deze krijgslieden, die zich in slagorde konden houden, kwamen met een volkomen hart te Hebron, om David koning te maken over gans Israel. En ook was al het overige van Israel een hart, om David tot koning te maken.
38 All these were fighting men who volunteered to serve in the ranks. They came to Hebron fully determined to make David king over all Israel. All the rest of the Israelites were also of one mind to make David king.
