3 Now the name of the man <em>was</em> Nabal; and the name of his wife Abigail. And <em>she was</em> a woman of good understanding and of a beautiful countenance, but the man <em>was</em> hard and evil in his doings, and he was <em>of the lineage</em> of Caleb.
3 His name was Nabal and his wife’s name was Abigail. She was an intelligent and beautiful woman, but her husband was surly and mean in his dealings—he was a Calebite.
