45 Ma il popolo disse a Saulle: Gionatan, che ha fatta questa gran liberazione in Israele, morrebbe egli? tolga Iddio che ciò avvenga. Come il Signore vive, non gli caderà pur un capello di testa in terra; perciocchè egli ha operato oggi con l’aiuto di Dio. Il popolo adunque riscosse Gionatan, sì che non morì.

But the men said to Saul, “Should Jonathan die—he who has brought about this great deliverance in Israel? Never! As surely as the LORD lives, not a hair of his head will fall to the ground, for he did this today with God’s help.” So the men rescued Jonathan, and he was not put to death.
