1 Corinthians 11:27-32

NLT 27 So if anyone eats this bread or drinks this cup of the Lord unworthily, that person is guilty of sinning against the body and the blood of the Lord. NIV 27 Therefore, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the Lord. NLT 28 That is why you should examine yourself before eating the bread and drinking from the cup. NIV 28 A man ought to examine himself before he eats of the bread and drinks of the cup. NLT 29 For if you eat the bread or drink the cup unworthily, not honoring the body of Christ, you are eating and drinking God's judgment upon yourself. NIV 29 For anyone who eats and drinks without recognizing the body of the Lord eats and drinks judgment on himself. NLT 30 That is why many of you are weak and sick and some have even died. NIV 30 That is why many among you are weak and sick, and a number of you have fallen asleep. NLT 31 But if we examine ourselves, we will not be examined by God and judged in this way. NIV 31 But if we judged ourselves, we would not come under judgment. NLT 32 But when we are judged and disciplined by the Lord, we will not be condemned with the world. NIV 32 When we are judged by the Lord, we are being disciplined so that we will not be condemned with the world.
