1 Corinthians 1:18-28

KJV 18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. NIV 18 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. KJV 19 For it is written , I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent. NIV 19 For it is written: "I will destroy the wisdom of the wise; the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate." KJV 20 Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? NIV 20 Where is the wise man? Where is the scholar? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? KJV 21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe . NIV 21 For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe. KJV 22 For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom: NIV 22 Jews demand miraculous signs and Greeks look for wisdom, KJV 23 But we preach Christ crucified , unto the Jews a stumblingblock , and unto the Greeks foolishness; NIV 23 but we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles, KJV 24 But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God. NIV 24 but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. KJV 25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men. NIV 25 For the foolishness of God is wiser than man's wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man's strength.
