1 Corinthians 6

CSB 1 Does any of you who has a complaint against someone dare go to law before the unrighteous, and not before the saints? NIV 1 If any of you has a dispute with another, dare he take it before the ungodly for judgment instead of before the saints? CSB 2 Or do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if the world is judged by you, are you unworthy to judge the smallest cases? NIV 2 Do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if you are to judge the world, are you not competent to judge trivial cases? CSB 3 Do you not know that we will judge angels-not to speak of things pertaining to this life? NIV 3 Do you not know that we will judge angels? How much more the things of this life! CSB 4 So if you have cases pertaining to this life, do you select those who have no standing in the church to judge? NIV 4 Therefore, if you have disputes about such matters, appoint as judges even men of little account in the church! CSB 5 I say this to your shame! Can it be that there is not one wise person among you who will be able to arbitrate between his brothers? NIV 5 I say this to shame you. Is it possible that there is nobody among you wise enough to judge a dispute between believers? CSB 6 Instead, brother goes to law against brother, and that before unbelievers! NIV 6 But instead, one brother goes to law against another--and this in front of unbelievers! CSB 7 Therefore, it is already a total defeat for you that you have lawsuits against one another. Why not rather put up with injustice? Why not rather be cheated? NIV 7 The very fact that you have lawsuits among you means you have been completely defeated already. Why not rather be wronged? Why not rather be cheated? CSB 8 Instead, you act unjustly and cheat-and this to brothers! NIV 8 Instead, you yourselves cheat and do wrong, and you do this to your brothers. CSB 9 Do you not know that the unjust will not inherit God's kingdom? Do not be deceived: no sexually immoral people, idolaters, adulterers, male prostitutes, homosexuals, NIV 9 Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders CSB 10 thieves, greedy people, drunkards, revilers, or swindlers will inherit God's kingdom. NIV 10 nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. CSB 11 Some of you were like this; but you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God. NIV 11 And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God. CSB 12 "Everything is permissible for me," but not everything is helpful. "Everything is permissible for me," but I will not be brought under the control of anything. NIV 12 "Everything is permissible for me"--but not everything is beneficial. "Everything is permissible for me"--but I will not be mastered by anything. CSB 13 "Foods for the stomach and the stomach for foods," but God will do away with both of them. The body is not for sexual immorality but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body. NIV 13 "Food for the stomach and the stomach for food"--but God will destroy them both. The body is not meant for sexual immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body. CSB 14 God raised up the Lord and will also raise us up by His power. NIV 14 By his power God raised the Lord from the dead, and he will raise us also. CSB 15 Do you not know that your bodies are the members of Christ? So should I take the members of Christ and make them members of a prostitute? Absolutely not! NIV 15 Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ himself ? Shall I then take the members of Christ and unite them with a prostitute? Never! CSB 16 Do you not know that anyone joined to a prostitute is one body with her? For it says, The two will become one flesh. NIV 16 Do you not know that he who unites himself with a prostitute is one with her in body? For it is said, "The two will become one flesh." CSB 17 But anyone joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him. NIV 17 But he who unites himself with the Lord is one with him in spirit. CSB 18 Flee from sexual immorality! "Every sin a person can commit is outside the body," but the person who is sexually immoral sins against his own body. NIV 18 Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a man commits are outside his body, but he who sins sexually sins against his own body. CSB 19 Do you not know that your body is a sanctuary of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, NIV 19 Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; CSB 20 for you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body. NIV 20 you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.
