1 John 4:15-21

NKJV 15 Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. NIV 15 If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in him and he in God. NKJV 16 And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him. NIV 16 And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him. NKJV 17 Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world. NIV 17 In this way, love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment, because in this world we are like him. NKJV 18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. NIV 18 There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. NKJV 19 We love Him because He first loved us. NIV 19 We love because he first loved us. NKJV 20 If someone says, "I love God," and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen? NIV 20 If anyone says, "I love God," yet hates his brother, he is a liar. For anyone who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen. NKJV 21 And this commandment we have from Him: that he who loves God must love his brother also. NIV 21 And he has given us this command: Whoever loves God must also love his brother.
