1 Kings 15:8-12

NRS 8 Abijam slept with his ancestors, and they buried him in the city of David. Then his son Asa succeeded him. NIV 8 And Abijah rested with his fathers and was buried in the City of David. And Asa his son succeeded him as king. NRS 9 In the twentieth year of King Jeroboam of Israel, Asa began to reign over Judah; NIV 9 In the twentieth year of Jeroboam king of Israel, Asa became king of Judah, NRS 10 he reigned forty-one years in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Maacah daughter of Abishalom. NIV 10 and he reigned in Jerusalem forty-one years. His grandmother's name was Maacah daughter of Abishalom. NRS 11 Asa did what was right in the sight of the Lord, as his father David had done. NIV 11 Asa did what was right in the eyes of the LORD, as his father David had done. NRS 12 He put away the male temple prostitutes out of the land, and removed all the idols that his ancestors had made. NIV 12 He expelled the male shrine prostitutes from the land and got rid of all the idols his fathers had made.
