1 Kings 4:27-34

KJV 27 And those officers provided victual for king Solomon, and for all that came unto king Solomon's table, every man in his month: they lacked nothing. NIV 27 The district officers, each in his month, supplied provisions for King Solomon and all who came to the king's table. They saw to it that nothing was lacking. KJV 28 Barley also and straw for the horses and dromedaries brought they unto the place where the officers were, every man according to his charge. NIV 28 They also brought to the proper place their quotas of barley and straw for the chariot horses and the other horses. KJV 29 And God gave Solomon wisdom and understanding exceeding much , and largeness of heart, even as the sand that is on the sea shore. NIV 29 God gave Solomon wisdom and very great insight, and a breadth of understanding as measureless as the sand on the seashore. KJV 30 And Solomon's wisdom excelled the wisdom of all the children of the east country, and all the wisdom of Egypt. NIV 30 Solomon's wisdom was greater than the wisdom of all the men of the East, and greater than all the wisdom of Egypt. KJV 31 For he was wiser than all men; than Ethan the Ezrahite, and Heman, and Chalcol, and Darda, the sons of Mahol: and his fame was in all nations round about. NIV 31 He was wiser than any other man, including Ethan the Ezrahite--wiser than Heman, Calcol and Darda, the sons of Mahol. And his fame spread to all the surrounding nations. KJV 32 And he spake three thousand proverbs: and his songs were a thousand and five. NIV 32 He spoke three thousand proverbs and his songs numbered a thousand and five. KJV 33 And he spake of trees, from the cedar tree that is in Lebanon even unto the hyssop that springeth out of the wall: he spake also of beasts, and of fowl, and of creeping things, and of fishes. NIV 33 He described plant life, from the cedar of Lebanon to the hyssop that grows out of walls. He also taught about animals and birds, reptiles and fish. KJV 34 And there came of all people to hear the wisdom of Solomon, from all kings of the earth, which had heard of his wisdom. NIV 34 Men of all nations came to listen to Solomon's wisdom, sent by all the kings of the world, who had heard of his wisdom.
