1 Peter 2:1-6

NCV 1 So then, rid yourselves of all evil, all lying, hypocrisy, jealousy, and evil speech. NIV 1 Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander of every kind. NCV 2 As newborn babies want milk, you should want the pure and simple teaching. By it you can grow up and be saved, NIV 2 Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, NCV 3 because you have already examined and seen how good the Lord is. NIV 3 now that you have tasted that the Lord is good. NCV 4 Come to the Lord Jesus, the "stone" that lives. The people of the world did not want this stone, but he was the stone God chose, and he was precious. NIV 4 As you come to him, the living Stone--rejected by men but chosen by God and precious to him-- NCV 5 You also are like living stones, so let yourselves be used to build a spiritual temple -- to be holy priests who offer spiritual sacrifices to God. He will accept those sacrifices through Jesus Christ. NIV 5 you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. NCV 6 The Scripture says: "I will put a stone in the ground in Jerusalem. Everything will be built on this important and precious rock. Anyone who trusts in him will never be disappointed." NIV 6 For in Scripture it says: "See, I lay a stone in Zion, a chosen and precious cornerstone, and the one who trusts in him will never be put to shame."
