1 Peter 2:1-6

YLT 1 Having put aside, then, all evil, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envyings, and all evil speakings, NIV 1 Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander of every kind. YLT 2 as new-born babes the word's pure milk desire ye, that in it ye may grow, NIV 2 Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, YLT 3 if so be ye did taste that the Lord [is] gracious, NIV 3 now that you have tasted that the Lord is good. YLT 4 to whom coming -- a living stone -- by men, indeed, having been disapproved of, but with God choice, precious, NIV 4 As you come to him, the living Stone--rejected by men but chosen by God and precious to him-- YLT 5 and ye yourselves, as living stones, are built up, a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. NIV 5 you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. YLT 6 Wherefore, also, it is contained in the Writing: `Lo, I lay in Zion a chief corner-stone, choice, precious, and he who is believing on him may not be put to shame;' NIV 6 For in Scripture it says: "See, I lay a stone in Zion, a chosen and precious cornerstone, and the one who trusts in him will never be put to shame."
