1 Peter 2:21-25

NAS 21 For you have been called for this purpose, since Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example for you to follow in His steps, NIV 21 To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps. NAS 22 WHO COMMITTED NO SIN, NOR WAS ANY DECEIT FOUND IN HIS MOUTH; NIV 22 "He committed no sin, and no deceit was found in his mouth." NAS 23 and while being reviled, He did not revile in return; while suffering, He uttered no threats, but kept entrusting Himself to Him who judges righteously; NIV 23 When they hurled their insults at him, he did not retaliate; when he suffered, he made no threats. Instead, he entrusted himself to him who judges justly. NAS 24 and He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed. NIV 24 He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed. NAS 25 For you were continually straying like sheep, but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Guardian of your souls. NIV 25 For you were like sheep going astray, but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.
