1 Peter 4:12-19

KJV 12 Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: NIV 12 Dear friends, do not be surprised at the painful trial you are suffering, as though something strange were happening to you. KJV 13 But rejoice , inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy . NIV 13 But rejoice that you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed. KJV 14 If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of , but on your part he is glorified . NIV 14 If you are insulted because of the name of Christ, you are blessed, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you. KJV 15 But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men's matters. NIV 15 If you suffer, it should not be as a murderer or thief or any other kind of criminal, or even as a meddler. KJV 16 Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed ; but let him glorify God on this behalf. NIV 16 However, if you suffer as a Christian, do not be ashamed, but praise God that you bear that name. KJV 17 For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? NIV 17 For it is time for judgment to begin with the family of God; and if it begins with us, what will the outcome be for those who do not obey the gospel of God? KJV 18 And if the righteous scarcely be saved , where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear ? NIV 18 And, "If it is hard for the righteous to be saved, what will become of the ungodly and the sinner?" KJV 19 Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator. NIV 19 So then, those who suffer according to God's will should commit themselves to their faithful Creator and continue to do good.
