1 Y aconteció <em>que</em> al cabo de veinte años que Salomón había edificado la Casa del SEÑOR y su casa

2 reedificó Salomón las ciudades que Hiram le había dado, y estableció en ellas a los hijos de Israel

3 Después vino Salomón a Hamat de Soba, y la tomó

4 Y edificó a Tadmor en el desierto, y todas las ciudades de municiones que edificó en el desierto

5 Asimismo reedificó a Bet-horón la de arriba, y a Bet-horón la de abajo, ciudades fortificadas, de muros, puertas, y barras

6 y a Baalat, y a todas las villas de munición que Salomón tenía; también todas las ciudades de los carros y las de la gente de a caballo; y todo lo que Salomón quiso edificar en Jerusalén, y en el Líbano, y en toda la tierra de su señorío

7 Y a todo el pueblo que había quedado de los heteos, amorreos, ferezeos, heveos, y jebuseos, que no eran de Israel

8 los hijos de los que habían quedado en la tierra después de ellos, a los cuales los hijos de Israel no destruyeron del todo, hizo Salomón tributarios hasta hoy

9 Y de los hijos de Israel no puso Salomón siervos en su obra; porque eran hombres de guerra, y sus príncipes y sus capitanes, y príncipes de sus carros, y su gente de a caballo

10 Y tenía el rey Salomón doscientos cincuenta príncipes de los gobernadores, los cuales presidían en el pueblo

11 Y pasó Salomón a la hija de Faraón, de la ciudad de David a la casa que él le había edificado; porque dijo <em>entre sí</em>: Mi mujer no morará en la casa de David rey de Israel, porque son lugares sagrados por haber entrado a ellas el arca del SEÑOR

12 Entonces ofreció Salomón holocaustos al SEÑOR sobre el altar del SEÑOR, que había él edificado delante del pórtico

13 para que ofrecieran cada cosa en su día, conforme al mandamiento de Moisés, en los sábados, las nuevas lunas, y fiestas tres veces al año, <em>a saber</em>, en la fiesta de los panes sin levadura, en la fiesta de las semanas, y en la fiesta de los tabernáculos

14 Y constituyó los repartimientos de los sacerdotes en sus oficios, conforme a la ordenación de David su padre: los levitas por sus guardas, para que alabaran y ministraran delante de los sacerdotes, cada cosa en su día; y los porteros por su guarda a cada puerta; porque así lo había mandado David, varón de Dios

15 Y no se apartaron del mandamiento del rey, <em>en </em>cuanto a los sacerdotes y levitas, y los tesoros, y todo negocio

16 Porque toda la obra de Salomón estaba apercibida desde el día en que la Casa del SEÑOR fue fundada hasta que fue acabada. Así fue perfeccionada la Casa del SEÑOR

17 Entonces Salomón fue a Ezión-geber, y a Elot, a la costa del mar en la tierra de Edom

18 Porque Hiram le había enviado navíos por mano de sus siervos, y marineros diestros en el mar, los cuales habían ido con los siervos de Salomón a Ofir, y habían tomado de allá cuatrocientos cincuenta talentos de oro, y los trajeron al rey Salomón

1 At the end of twenty years, during which Solomon built the temple of the LORD and his own palace,

2 Solomon rebuilt the villages that Hiram had given him, and settled Israelites in them.

3 Solomon then went to Hamath Zobah and captured it.

4 He also built up Tadmor in the desert and all the store cities he had built in Hamath.

5 He rebuilt Upper Beth Horon and Lower Beth Horon as fortified cities, with walls and with gates and bars,

6 as well as Baalath and all his store cities, and all the cities for his chariots and for his horses —whatever he desired to build in Jerusalem, in Lebanon and throughout all the territory he ruled.

7 There were still people left from the Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites (these people were not Israelites).

8 Solomon conscripted the descendants of all these people remaining in the land—whom the Israelites had not destroyed—to serve as slave labor, as it is to this day.

9 But Solomon did not make slaves of the Israelites for his work; they were his fighting men, commanders of his captains, and commanders of his chariots and charioteers.

10 They were also King Solomon’s chief officials—two hundred and fifty officials supervising the men.

11 Solomon brought Pharaoh’s daughter up from the City of David to the palace he had built for her, for he said, “My wife must not live in the palace of David king of Israel, because the places the ark of the LORD has entered are holy.”

12 On the altar of the LORD that he had built in front of the portico, Solomon sacrificed burnt offerings to the LORD,

13 according to the daily requirement for offerings commanded by Moses for the Sabbaths, the New Moons and the three annual festivals—the Festival of Unleavened Bread, the Festival of Weeks and the Festival of Tabernacles.

14 In keeping with the ordinance of his father David, he appointed the divisions of the priests for their duties, and the Levites to lead the praise and to assist the priests according to each day’s requirement. He also appointed the gatekeepers by divisions for the various gates, because this was what David the man of God had ordered.

15 They did not deviate from the king’s commands to the priests or to the Levites in any matter, including that of the treasuries.

16 All Solomon’s work was carried out, from the day the foundation of the temple of the LORD was laid until its completion. So the temple of the LORD was finished.

17 Then Solomon went to Ezion Geber and Elath on the coast of Edom.

18 And Hiram sent him ships commanded by his own men, sailors who knew the sea. These, with Solomon’s men, sailed to Ophir and brought back four hundred and fifty talents of gold, which they delivered to King Solomon.
