18 Toen zond de koning Rehabeam Hadoram, die over de schatting was; en de kinderen Israels stenigden hem met stenen, dat hij stierf; maar de koning Rehabeam verkloekte zich, om op een wagen te klimmen, dat hij naar Jeruzalem vluchtte.
18 King Rehoboam sent out Adoniram, who was in charge of forced labor, but the Israelites stoned him to death. King Rehoboam, however, managed to get into his chariot and escape to Jerusalem.
